ISWAT Clusters and Action Teams
-
An action team provides a building block of the ISWAT initiative. Activities of action teams are the primary driver for ISWAT progress.
-
Action teams are organized into ISWAT clusters grouped by domain, phenomena, or impact.
-
An action team chose to focus on specific topics relevant to ISWAT cluster objectives.
-
Teams are working in coordinated effort
-
to advance understanding of space weather processes linked to major impacts and
-
to feed validated improvements in understanding, modeling and forecasting into the research-to-operation (R2O) transition process.
-
-
Teams can address different aspects of space weather capabilities, e.g.,
-
advancing understanding and modeling,
-
defining essential space environment quantities (ESEQ) and criteria for impacts,
-
improving specifications and forecasting,
-
assessment of specification and forecasting capabilities,
-
enabling organized access to research products (data, models, applications, etc), (meta)data standardization,
-
optimized utilization of available observations,
-
inputs for future mission planning, deployment of instrumentation,
-
generating inputs to the Roadmap updates.
-
-
Action team’s work is organized by team leads/co-leads.
-
Activities of action teams in a cluster are facilitated by a cluster moderator in coordination with team leads.
