Neutron Monitor Database (NMDB)
Database for the provision of real-time and historical data of neutron monitors, comprising the vast majority of neutron monitors worldwide.
Neutron monitor operations are funded by the individual institutions operating the neutron monitors of the network. NMDB has staff and infrastructure funded by the University of Kiel.
NMDB member institutions provide measurements of count rates of neutron monitors via a unified access portal for astrophysical research (solar modulation of galactic cosmic rays, solar energetic particles, geophysical research) and space-weather applications and services (subject to the policy of individual operators in case of commercial applications).
NMDB facilitates data exchange and cooperation through standardisation, training and the co-organisation of scientific meetings.
NMDB offers a public-outreach web site on cosmic rays in several language.
