Asociación LatinoAmericana de Geofísica Espacial (ALAGE)
The ALAGE is the Latinamerican Association of Space Geophysics. Space Geophysics is an interdisciplinary scientific branch born in the twentieth century of great importance today. It includes Earth space research as the study of the middle atmosphere, the ionosphere and magnetosphere, interplanetary medium, cosmic rays, planets, comets, asteroids, the Sun and the solar-terrestrial relationships.
The ALAGE was created in 1993 by unanimous resolution of participants of the Latinamerican Conference of Space Geophysics (COLAGE III). It aims to be a scientific civil and autonomous entity responsible for promoting the development of research on specific issues of space geophysics. Which will be done taking advantage of the human resources, the cultural unity and similarity of economic conditions in the region. Likewise, it seeks to complement existing traditional activities of regional geophysical and astronomical organizations.
