International Union of Radio Science (URSI)
Formed in 1922, the International Union of Radio Science (Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale), is a non-governmental and non-profit organization under the International Council for Science. There are currently 41 nations formally participating in URSI represented by members on the Council which advises the Board of Officers (elected) in the administration and direction of the Union. URSI broadly addresses radio science organized by topic under 10 Commissions (Chairs on the Council).
URSI is responsible for stimulating and coordinating, on an international basis, studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in the fields of radio science.
