Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP)
An Affiliated Body of the International Science Council (ISC) and a permanent observer at United Nations (UN) Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS). SCOSTEP composed of a Council with 34 National Adherents (countries and regions), more than 50 scientific discipline representatives, and a Bureau with representatives from 8 participating bodies (COSPAR, IAGA/IUGG, IAMAS/UGG, IAU, IUPAP, SCAR, URSI, and WDS).
SCOSTEP runs long-term (4-5 year) international interdisciplinary scientific programs of solar terrestrial physics, interacts with national and international programs involving solar terrestrial physics elements, engages in Capacity Building and outreach activities such as the Space Science Schools, and dissemination of new knowledge on the Sun-Earth System and how the Sun affects life and society.
